New legislation effective September 3, 2024
The Province has enacted legislative changes that expand workers’ compensation coverage to app-based ride-hail and delivery services workers in B.C. These changes came into effect on September 3, 2024. Changes to the Workers Compensation Act, and the complete Online Platform Workers Regulation, can be viewed on our website.
- Employers who need to register can find more information at worksafebc.com/register.
- Ride-hail workers can find information on driving for work at worksafebc.com/driving.
- Delivery services workers can find information at worksafebc.com/delivery.
