2018 Review

In January 2018, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors retained an external consultant, Louise Logan, to conduct a review of the policy and regulation development process, including stakeholder consultation, and the role of the Policy & Practice Consultative Committee (PPCC).

The final report, Review of WorkSafeBC’s Policy Development Process, was received by the Board of Directors at its July 2018 meeting.

The Policy, Regulation and Research Department has reviewed the final report with the PPCC and is proceeding with review and implementation of the 27 recommendations.

2008 Review

In July 2008, WorkSafeBC initiated a review of the PPCC to ensure it continues to be an effective avenue for obtaining stakeholder input and advice. The Review of WorkSafeBC’s Policy & Practice Consultative Committee was also conducted by Ms. Logan.

The fifteen recommendations outlined in the report were completed in November 2010. The PPCC Review: Implementation of Recommendations – Final Progress Report  summarizes the recommendations and implementation dates.

Based on recommendations in the report, the Terms of Reference, process protocols and WorkSafeBC’s stakeholder engagement approaches were documented, and can be accessed on Terms of Reference and Protocols.
