The Assessment Manual contains the official current policies of WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors respecting assessments for employers under British Columbia’s Workers Compensation Act (Act). The Act requires WorkSafeBC and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal to apply these policies when making decisions.

The Assessment Manual was re-written and approved effective January 1, 2003. It replaced the former Assessment Policy Manual and 29 assessment decisions from Volumes 1-6 of the Workers’ Compensation Reporter. The previous Assessment Policy Manual and the 29 Workers’ Compensation Reporter decisions can be accessed in the policy archives section.

The Assessment Manual is published in Adobe Acrobat portable document format (PDF). The single PDF file reflects the current printed manual, and includes the most recent update. This PDF file can be printed and downloaded.
