- Combined communications activities through partnerships with Sun Safety at Work, CAREX, Canadian Cancer Society, BC Cancer Agency, and other partners.
- Ongoing awareness campaign, including promotional materials, bulletins, journal articles, and events targeted at outdoor and new, young and vulnerable workers, focusing on worker attitudes and practices.
- Presentations and meetings with industry associations.

Welding fumes |
Industry awareness
- Apply and communicate the findings of the completed welding fumes study across industries, which assessed risk exposure levels, welding techniques, equipment set-up, current standards, and existing and required risk controls.
- Promote new employer resources to raise industry awareness on exposure and how to reduce the risk when conducting welding activities, including an updated risk assessment and exposure control plan (ECP) template, and control sheets that provide references for effective interaction/application in the workplace.
- Develop and promote a generic training package and engage associations and trade schools to educate employers and engage young and new workers in discussions about risks associated with welding.

- Inspection cycles in metal products manufacturing, construction, and other industries with significant welding operations.

Industry awareness
- Promote the new informational resources about epoxy and resins including, new exposure control plan (ECP) templates, and control sheets that provide references for effective interaction/application in the workplace.
- Develop a sensitizer industry and product reference sheet that can be utilized by officers and industry.
- Promote industry awareness about harmful exposure to suppliers, industry associations, employers, and workers using WorkSafeBC and OSHA materials.
Targeted inspections
- Inspection cycles in construction, bakeries, autobody shops, plastics manufacturing, and other industries where there is prevalent use of sensitizers.

Noise-induced hearing loss

Industry awareness
- Promote our employer tools and resources to encourage worker testing and improve awareness on noise exposure, monitoring, engineering and acoustic controls, and the proper use of hearing protection devices for the environment that the worker is operating in. This includes a template document to assist employers in developing a hearing loss prevention policy and health and safety program.
- Targeted advertising campaigns in various high exposure industries will continue in 2024.

- Inspection cycles in the general and heavy construction subsectors, manufacturing operations, and other industries where workers are exposed to potentially hazardous levels of noise.
