The Panel of Administrators approved the retirement of various policies relating to the former Industrial Health and Safety Regulations from the Prevention Division Policy and Procedure Manual. These policies have generally been superseded by the Workers Compensation (Occupational Health and Safety) Amendment Act, 1998, the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation or the policies in the new Prevention Manual. The affected policies are listed in the Panel resolution. The effective date for the retirement is December 1, 2000. On that date the retired policies ceased to be "published policy". However, they continue to remain applicable in decision-making on historical issues to the extent they were applicable prior to December 1, 2000. The retirement of these policies is part of a larger project that will eventually result in all prevention policies being consolidated into the new Prevention Manual or repealed or retired as appropriate.
