Discussion Paper - Reopenings Over Three Years Consultation
WorkSafeBC policy in the Rehabilitation Services and Claims Manual, Volume II provided guidance on determining compensation when a claim was reopened more than three years after the original injury.
At issue was whether policy should be revised to:
- include language that was more reflective of the Workers Compensation Act;
- address more situations that could arise when determining a worker’s compensation; and
- clarify how WorkSafeBC determined whether three years have passed since the original injury occurred.
Consultation closed October 2, 2009.
