At its November 2019 meeting, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors approved amendments to the definition of “fire department” in section 31.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR), consequential to the Bill 18 revisions to the Workers Compensation Act; and amendments to the WorkSafeBC-controlled regulations under Part 3 of the Workers Compensation Act (the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and the Lower Maximum Administrative Penalties Regulation), consequential to the statutory revision of the Workers Compensation Act.

These amendments will become effective on April 6, 2020.
