Training and certification requirements are now in effect for asbestos abatement work to help keep workers safe from the dangers of asbestos. As of January 1, 2024, anyone performing asbestos abatement work must complete mandatory safety training from an approved provider.

This guide provides suggestions for the design and implementation of a Practical Skills Test, which is required for Level 2 certification. Training providers who apply to become an approved training provider need to include information about the assessment tools in their provider application.
