Discussion Paper - Proposed Changes to OELs Based on 2012 New or Revised ACGIH TLVs and TLVs for Other Substances from Prior Years Consultation
Each year, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists ("ACGIH") publishes a list of substances for which they have set new or revised Threshold Limit Values ("TLVs").
WorkSafeBC requested stakeholder feedback on the proposed changes to the B.C. Occupational Exposure Limits (“OELs”) for the following substances, based on the new or revised 2012 ACGIH TLVs, as well as the TLVs for 4 other substances from prior years.
2012 new or revised ACGIH TLVs:
- Allyl bromide
- Carbonyl sulfide
- Diacetyl
- Ethyl formate
- Nitrogen dioxide
- Nonane
- o-Phthalodinitrile
- Piperazine and salts, as piperazine
ACGIH TLVs for other substances from prior years:
- • Beryllium and compounds
- • Vanadium pentoxide
- • Alpha-methyl styrene
- • Portland cement
