BOD Decision -2015/05/27-03 – Cost Relief for Certain Compensable Consequences
On May 27, 2015, the Board of Directors approved the addition of policy item #115.34, Experience Rating Exclusions for Certain Compensable Consequences, and the amendments to policy items #115.30, Experience Rating Cost Exclusions, and #115.31, Injuries or Aggravations Occurring in the Course of Treatment or Rehabilitation, of the Rehabilitation Services & Claims Manual, Volume II.
The new policy and the policy amendments came into effect on January 1, 2016. The new policy item #115.34 applies to all claims for injuries that occur on or after January 1, 2016. The amendments to policy items #115.30 and #115.31 apply to all decisions made on or after January 1, 2016.
This will not impact a worker’s entitlement to compensation nor the charging of costs for the expected or relatively predictable, compensable consequences of treatment, surgery, Board-related assessment, or travel for exceptional treatment.
