The Board of Directors approved amendments to WorkSafeBC’s policies pertaining to the clearance system, as provided in Assessment Manual items AP1-51-1 Contractor Liability and AP1-52-1 Statutory Lien. AP1-51-1 and AP1-52-1 were amended to clarify the clearance system, specifically the function of clearance letters and the importance of the clearance date.

The amended policy came into effect on May 1, 2007 and applies to all clearance letter requests on or after that date.
