Non-Wage Losses Associated With Occupational Injury Among Health Care Workers
This project aimed to quantify the economic and quality of life consequences experienced by injured B.C. health care workers and their families. This information may then be used to conduct comprehensive economic evaluations of occupational health and safety initiatives in health care that will better integrate workers’ perspectives, and properly account for the costs and benefits accrued to workers and their families
Occupational injury can result in significant non-wage losses for injured workers and those who care for them. The goal of this study was to determine losses outside of wages incurred by Canadian health care workers following occupational injury. The influence of demographic and occupational factors on such losses was also examined
