The provincial government has brought in new requirements to protect workers and the public from the dangers of asbestos. Starting on Jan. 1, 2024, asbestos abatement employers must be licensed to operate in B.C., and anyone performing asbestos abatement work must complete mandatory safety training and obtain a certificate.
