WorkSafeBC has updated our Planned Inspectional Initiatives to reflect the areas of focus and prevention activities for 2024.

WorkSafeBC’s Planned Inspectional Initiatives (previously known as High Risk Strategies and Industry Initiatives) support employers’ management of risks by examining and promoting occupational health and safety basics and specific areas of high risk for particular industries. Our initiatives take place over multiple years and are reviewed annually to make any necessary adjustments and ensure employers and workers continue to focus their efforts on key areas of hazard identification and risk assessment and management.

For 2024, many of our initiatives will continue to emphasize risk management basics, in addition to specific risks for a particular industry. We target and refine identified risks based on data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and input from advisory groups.
