New series of information sheets to help prevent MSIs in forest nurseries
Published on: September 09, 2019
Workers in forest nurseries repeatedly perform a series of actions each work day. These movements — combined with forceful exertions, awkward postures, and other factors — can put workers at risk of developing musculoskeletal injuries (MSIs).
“Forest nurseries: Know the risks, prevent injuries” is a series of information sheets for employers, supervisors, and workers in forest nurseries. It describes the factors that may contribute to MSIs and outlines how each workplace party can help reduce the risk of injury.
The series includes the following information sheets:
- A guide for workers, supervisors & employers
- Conveyor wrapping station
- Manual extraction and wrapping station
- Working at the packing station
- Working on the conveyor
