Board of Directors’ decisions on 2006 amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation

In March 2007, WorkSafeBC's Board of Directors approved amendments to Parts 3 and 6 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. These amendments will become effective on July 26, 2007.

A strikethrough version of the approved amendments with explanatory notes, associated guideline, and the related Resolution can be accessed below.

In addition, the Board of Directors approved that proposed amendments to Part 4, relating to prepayment for fuel at gas stations and other retail fuel outlets, be revised and released to a second public hearing. The Board of Directors requested that the proposed amendments be revised to apply province wide and be in effect 24 hours per day. As these revisions represent a material change to those originally proposed, a second public hearing is required. These revised proposed amendments will be taken to public hearings in June 2007 along with the proposed 2007 regulatory amendments. More information will be forthcoming on the June 2007 public hearings.

The proposed amendments referenced above to Parts 3, 4 and 6 were taken to public hearings in November 2006 and January 2007. Stakeholder feedback received during the public hearing process is available for review.
