Proposed Amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation

The Board of Directors, at its March 21, 2006 meeting, approved the release of proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation to public hearings in May 2006. The public hearings will provide stakeholders with another opportunity to comment on the proposed regulatory amendments. Feedback on the proposed regulatory amendments received during the public hearings will be presented to the Board of Directors for their consideration.

The public hearings are scheduled, as follows:

Kelowna	Thursday, May 11, 2006	Best Western Inn 2402 Hwy 97 N Kelowna, BC

Session Times:	3 pm to 5 pm 7 pm to 9 pm

 

Formal notice of the public hearings, as required under Section 226 of the Workers Compensation Act, will be provided in April 2006.

Beside each proposed regulatory amendment is a Review/Comment link from which you can access the proposed amendments, provide your comments, and complete a mini survey electronically.

Relevant information for each regulatory amendment item is provided below. This includes:

• an overview of the proposed regulatory changes;
• proposed amendments including explanatory notes. Proposed deletions of regulatory amendments are identified with a strikethrough and additions are identified in bold;
• clean version of the proposed amendments; and
• proposed associated guidelines.
