Penalties: WorkSafe Magazine, July/August issue
A list of the recent administrative penalties imposed on employers by WorkSafeBC is published in each issue of WorkSafe Magazine.
The list of penalties by industry sector includes company names, penalty amounts, and description and location of the violations.
This list in the July/August issue includes 47 penalties. Of note:
- 29 penalties involved fall-protection violations
- 1 involved a workplace fatality
- 5 involved serious injuries, 3 of which were related to fall-protection violations
- 3 were for failure to protect or notify workers of asbestos-containing materials in buildings being demolished or renovated
