Our statement of account is designed to be informative and easy to read and understand. The format is similar to a credit card invoice, allowing you to see any unpaid transactions or credits from the previous month, as well as your outstanding balance.
You receive a statement of account only when you have a credit or a debit balance on your account. If you have a credit on your account, you will receive a statement only for the month the credit was applied. To view your statement online, log on to Online Reporting and Remitting, and if you have a credit or debit balance on your account, you'll see the option to see your statement of account.
The statement features transactions applied to your account during the statement period, such as an assessment, a payment, a penalty or penalty reversal, an overdue charge, a transfer of funds from your account, or a credit. Credits include such items as a subclass surplus rebate, an assessment adjustment, or the transfer of funds into your account. View the statement example (PDF 135kb) for a description and an overview of the kinds of transactions you may see.
Refer to the date above your payment slip on the right-hand side of your statement. Be sure to make your payment by the due date to avoid additional overdue charges.
You can make your payment online or by calling our automated phone system at 604 244-6181 or 1 888 922-2768. Or, you can pay at your financial institution or nearest WorkSafeBC office, or send a cheque or money order to WorkSafeBC in the return envelope enclosed with your statement. Write your account number on the front of your cheque and be sure to include your payment slip (the bottom portion of your statement). WorkSafeBC offices (other than the Richmond Head Office) do not accept cash. Allow five days for processing if you make your payment at a financial institution.
If your assessment payment is late, WorkSafeBC will apply a penalty based on the amount of your annual or quarterly assessment. The minimum penalty is $50. Outstanding account balances are subject to a one-percent monthly overdue charge.
Pay your balance in full to avoid incurring penalties and debt with WorkSafeBC. If you have no other choice but to make a partial payment, we will apply your payment to the oldest debt on your account.
