qualified
Being knowledgeable of the work, the hazards involved and
the means to control the hazards, by reason of education, training, experience
or a combination thereof.
qualified person
A person who is (a) qualified because of knowledge, training
and experience to design, organize, supervise and perform the duties for which
the person is appointed, (b) familiar with the requirements that apply to the
duties for which the person is appointed, and (c) capable of identifying any
potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace.
qualified practitioner
A person registered under the Chiropractors Act, the Dentists
Act, the Naturopaths Act or the Podiatrists Act.
quality assurance supervisor
Acts as a liaison and undertakes reviews of external service provider programs to ensure quality service to injured workers. The quality assurance supervisor regularly communicates and visits with programs throughout the province reviews data and documentation prepares reports and recommendations on findings and works as a clinical resource within the provider network. The quality assurance supervisor is also involved with network provider education, complaint investigation, and outcomes review.
quarterly reporter
An employer who is assessed on a quarterly basis in a calendar
year and who reports assessable earnings and pays WCB premiums five times a
year (one for each quarter and a yearly reconciliation). (As a general rule,
annual reporters have premiums of less than $1500 a year, while quarterly reporters
have annual premiums of $1500 or more per year).
