WorkSafeBC has a formal agreement with a network of residential care service providers offering services to help injured workers improve and retain their self-care skills so they may live and work in their own communities. These services address physical and psychological needs, and include behavioural interventions. A qualified contractor may provide such services in a facility or family care home.
WorkSafeBC is charged with the administration of the Workers Compensation Act R.S.B.C. 1996 c. 492 as amended, under which we have authority to provide health care and rehabilitation services to workers who sustain injuries arising out of and in the course of their employment. In exercising that authority, a series of varied programs and services (Board Sponsored Rehabilitation Services) have been established to meet injured worker and referral source needs.
