Optometrists and WorkSafeBC

WorkSafeBC doesn't currently have a formal agreement with optometrists. However, optometrists may be authorized to render health care. When a worker in B.C. suffers an injury as a result of a workplace accident, WorkSafeBC pays the cost of appropriate treatment, according to the fee schedule agreed to between WorkSafeBC and the B.C. Association of Optometrists.

To verify the status of a claim:

Phone the WorkSafeBC Claims Call Centre to determine if a claim has been submitted and accepted.

Fee schedule

To bill WorkSafeBC for your services, include only those fee items outlined in the following fee schedule (PDF 38kb).

This invoice must be faxed within 90 days to 604 233-9777 or toll-free 1 888 922-8807, or mailed to:
