If you’re a WorkSafeBC client with a life-altering spinal cord injury, brain injury, serious burn, or an amputation, WorkSafeBC’s team of psychologists, case managers, medical specialists, and mental health support staff are here to help. Living with a serious injury can be very complex and challenging and our team wants to ensure you have the support and resources you need to live an independent life.
WorkSafeBC is committed to helping you. As you embark on your road to recovery, you’ll rely on some of the many services we offer to seriously injured workers.
While WorkSafeBC is here to provide you with the needed resources, your recovery depends on you. As a seriously injured worker, you carry a physical and emotional load that most of us cannot imagine. Many seriously injured workers have told us they feel alone, depressed, and angry. What’s worked for many is talking out those feelings. You’ll be heard and supported — by close friends and family and other injured workers or professionals that you may be referred to by your case manager.
For insight into how others have coped, read the Journey, WorkSafeBC’s bi-annual newsletter for severely injured workers.
We want to hear from you — how you were injured, what you’re doing now, issues that you’re facing, and your goals for the future. Send your story to: contactscs@worksafebc.com.
If you’re a seriously injured worker in crisis, you can access the 24-hour crisis line 1 800 624-2928. Living with the consequences of a significant injury is difficult: anger, frustration, anxiety, and depression can affect not just you, but your family as well.
