The significant decisions posted to this web site are highlighted because they are considered to be interesting — they illustrate how a review officer has addressed an issue in a particular set of circumstances. Decisions are identified significant or interesting for different reasons. For example, they may deal with an unusual point, or a significant area of law or policy, or they may be a good example of how to analyze and write a decision in a particular area. The decisions are not considered to be binding in decision making. Rather, they are intended to assist review officers, WorkSafeBC officers, parties and their representatives when thinking about the issues raised. As there are tens of thousands of Review Division decisions, the Review Division cannot guarantee that all significant decisions have been listed.
