Nurse Advisor
Worker and Employer Services
Prince George, B.C.

“As a nurse advisor, I collaborate with workers, employers, and healthcare providers, and apply the principles of disability management and evidence-based best-practice guidelines to develop plans that ensure the best possible recovery, as well as safe and timely return to work plans for injured workers.

It's an exciting and interesting job - each day is different. I love the diversity. You may be at a worksite assessing job demands; at the hospital arranging discharge plans and home care needs for an injured worker; participating in outreach activities with employers or physicians; or attending committee meetings regarding best practices for WorkSafeBC nurse advisors.

The best part of my job - besides the many people I get to work with - is seeing firsthand how early intervention positively impacts workers and employers. Early return to work is absolutely fundamental to a worker's recovery - that's what we're all about at WorkSafeBC. And, with the resources to support excellent, timely interventions to assist injured workers, we really do touch people's lives.

WorkSafeBC not only supports injured workers, but also its employees. The organization holds very high standards of employment, and values and supports education and opportunities for growth for staff.”
