Farhad Mistry

Budget Coordinator
Richmond, B.C.

“My main responsibility as budget coordinator is to provide my absolute support — whatever it takes — to my coworkers and leaders. I always have several things on the go — ad-hoc requests, scheduled reports, budgeting, analysis — so my job is always interesting and no two days are alike.

WorkSafeBC is a very progressive employer, with a staff that’s highly qualified and experienced. Many of my colleagues have accounting designations — some even hold MBAs — and come from a variety of backgrounds including the manufacturing and service industries, government institutions, and other organizations. This blend of expertise and experience is apparent in my daily interactions at work.

At WorkSafeBC, a lot of focus is also placed on the 'human' factor. We have several company wide social events each year, including a Sun Run team, Welcome Back BBQ, and a huge holiday breakfast. Employees are also encouraged to participate in the Wellness Program, which focuses on total health.

No matter what angle you see it from, WorkSafeBC has just the right mix.”
