Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Plan
In order to raise awareness that everyone has a responsibility to take ownership of their health and safety, WorkSafeBC has developed a provincial occupational health and safety plan that seeks to create alliances with other safety-minded organizations.
Flowing from this initiative, on May 1, 2006, the Minister of Labour and Citizens' Services announced the launch of SafeBC, a government-led council that will work with public and private-sector organizations towards making British Columbia the safest province in Canada.
