Occupational health and safety public hearings

WorkSafeBC has had the legislative responsibility for developing and implementing occupational health and safety regulations since 1917. Section 228 of the Workers Compensation Act requires that the Workers' Compensation Board:

"undertake a process of ongoing review of and consultation on its regulations to ensure that they are consistent with current workplace practices, technological advances and other changes affecting occupational health and safety and occupational environment."

WorkSafeBC is required to hold a public hearing before changes can be made to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
