Consultation on the Classification Policy Review

The classification policies in the Assessment Manual guide how WorkSafeBC assigns firms to a classification unit for the purpose of assessment. Each classification unit represents an industry a firm operates in and determines the base rate at which the firm pays assessment premiums.

The Policy and Regulation Division has prepared a discussion paper and draft policies on the classification of firms in the Assessment Manual, for stakeholder review and comment.

Stakeholders are invited to review the discussion paper and proposed policies, and to provide feedback by July 27, 2012.
